My normal route reversing the loop for my 5th straight day of running. To my surprise each day has been a little quicker pace even though I mentally tell myself to start slow. One more run tomorrow then rest 2 days before the bridge run.

Today we had Darrin, Frank, Jim and Steve. I kept pace with Steve for the first 2 miles but realizing I was running 7:45 or better I backed down because right now I cannot hold that pace, but sooner rather than later I expect to. The new shoes should have 20+ miles by the race on Saturday.

Got back out with Darrin and Frank, joined by Jim also for a solid 6+ mile run. Dragon, Frank’s dog, set the pace and was wanting to go faster. I surprised myself by keeping pace even on the last big hill back up Fairview.

I recall my sports doc saying not to run the same route in the same direction all the time, so I reversed the loop this morning. It was a nice run in a very cool drizzle. Started off telling myself to back down today mentally wanting to stay between 8:45 and 9:00 resulting in success because the first 5K was at an 8:51average. I picked it up on the back 5K with an 8:24 average and put some zip in my last nearly 1/2 mile for a 7:48 average. A few minutes of stretching and this day has started off very well.
